Udderly Pure: A Journey of Passion, Goats, and Natural Skincare

Growing up in South Africa and later moving to New Zealand in search of adventure, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. My love for animals and natural health inspired what would eventually become Udderly Pure—a business that blends both of these passions into luxurious goat milk skincare products.

Falling in Love with Goats

Though I always adored goats, I never had the chance to own any—until 2013, when I rescued my first three Saanen goats from an abandoned goat farm in Pakihi Valley on the East Coast of New Zealand. From the moment they arrived, I was smitten. Their quirky personalities, gentle nature, and the joy they brought into my life only deepened my love for them over the years.

A Natural Path to Goat Milk Skincare

When my son, Leon, was born in 2011, I became even more mindful of the products I used on his skin. I preferred natural alternatives, so making my own soap and lotion felt like the perfect solution. After moving back to Tauranga in 2015, I spent much of 2016 focused on cheese-making, learning the art and science behind it.

But my true passion kept calling me back—goat milk bath and body products. In 2017, Udderly Pure officially launched, bringing nourishing, handcrafted goat milk skincare to life.

Life Changes and New Beginnings

In 2019, I made the decision to homeschool Leon, putting my business on hold to embrace this new chapter. Then, in late 2022, an incredible opportunity arose—I was offered a lease on a beautiful 5-hectare block in the Far North. Without hesitation, we packed up our herd and relocated once again.

By 2024, the desire to return to my craft was stronger than ever. After discussing it with Leon, we knew it was the right choice. I started fresh, creating new recipes and refining my techniques to produce the most luxurious, natural goat milk lotions and soaps yet. The result? Rich, creamy, and deeply nourishing products designed to heal and rejuvenate any skin type.

More Than Just Skincare

Today, our little family business has grown beyond just skincare. Alongside Udderly Pure, we:

• Breed quality Saanen goats under our stud name, BelleMia Dairy Goats, NZ
• Supply raw goat milk through our sister business, Goat Milk for Pets (est. 2020)
• Continue to expand our goat milk skincare range

Through it all, my greatest joy remains my goats—and of course, my “wingman” Leon, who helps with feeding, kidding season, and simply enjoying time with our herd. With 11 goats and counting, life is always an adventure!
